PATHWAVES JOINS APF X OCAD: THE FUTURES OF CREATIVITY & COMPASSION

Pathwaves is heading to its next destination: The Futures of Creativity & Compassion — a gathering where experimentation, connection, and transformation take center stage, and where futures aren’t just imagined, but felt, shared, and lived.

From August 15–17, the Association of Professional Futurists (APF) and OCAD University will bring together practitioners and change-makers working at the intersection of futures, design, and systems change to explore transformational futures.

As part of the program, Pathwaves will host its Futures World Building Workshop — a lively 2 hour interactive session that merges collaborative storytelling and speculative design to reimagine the future of creative communities. Facilitated by Patti Schmidt, and Rebecca Black, the workshop draws on 20+ years of creative industry experience to cultivate digital literacy and futures thinking. Participants will explore how emerging forces — from AI to algorithms — could shape how artists create, perform, and thrive in 2035 and beyond.

Previously presented at MUTEK, POP Montreal, and Classical:NEXT in Berlin, Pathwaves workshops are known for sparking meaningful dialogue and empowering artists to build inclusive, imaginative futures.
